Busy season, but room was ready. Was surprised at how quiet the Inn was considering there was no vacancy. Photo is view from room towards bay.

Great little hotel in a fantastic location on the island. Centrally located, it’s easy to get to almost all areas of the island—and only minutes from Acadia National Park—and there are some great food options nearby. The hotel is also right by the water, and it’s fun to see the boats go in and out. The rooms are basic, but clean (with new carpet!) so a great deal for the price. The staff are all friendly and eager to accommodate, with plenty of free coffee. The hotel is also connected to a restaurant—the Nor’Easter—that serves good food and delivers a convenient way to feed the whole family.

This is a great spot to be near Acadia but in a more quiet area than Bar Harbor. We were able to get anywhere we wanted to go during our trip within 20-30 minutes. Marina is within view and has benches and picnic tables that are nice to enjoy. Decent lobby gift shop. Downtown area near the hotel is great as well as the Nor’eastern restaurant. Room service did a great job. Rooms are clean and spacious. AC worked well but note it does turn off during the day. Beds are comfortable spring mattresses. Our only complaint was the water pressure was not great but temperature was always nice and hot. Since we were in peak season this hotel was more than we’d typically want to pay for it, but we think it was worth it for the location, quiet, and convenience.

Such a great place! Came for a long weekend, 2 adults and a dog, our room was perfect! Spacious, clean, and had a sliding screen door that led out to a very large, very plush green grass area where our dog could potty, play, or just lounge in the grass. Room had a table and chairs and a good sized fridge for us to keep drinks. The neighboring restaurant was pricey but delicious. We got takeout twice to enjoy in our room, and ate breakfast on the restaurant patio one morning with our dog by our side. Would definitely stay here again and recommend it for those traveling with a medium to large size dog.

Should have 6 stars for location. Quiet area with a very good restaurant attached. Room was comfortable. The beds are firm. Coffee (very good) is available at the office along with good assortment of medicines. Plenty of tee-shirt and hoodies!

WONDERFUL place to stay away from crowds and visit Acadia National Park and Mount Desert Island. Restaurant next-door offers decent meals, breakfast was the highlight for us. Food truck at the dock area from 11-3 was a great lunch, lobster quesadillas! I would never stay anywhere else. Clean room, great people at front desk. We were there mid-September and "No Vacancy" was showing most nights. I made our reservations in February and changed dates a little in June with no problem. No coffee machine in-room, no microwave either. Coffee available in office and it was very good.

We stayed in this basic, clean, super convenient hotel for 2-1/2 days and 3 nights during our late September 2025 visit to Acadia National Park. I'm glad we chose Northeast Harbor over Bar Harbor as one of the main activities we had planned was to ride (via e-bikes) the 30+ miles of carriage roads in ANP and we were able to walk 10 minutes to Island Bike Rental and then ride a mile to the start of the trails from the bike shop. As others have mentioned, the rooms are nothing fancy, but they're clean, had comfortable beds, and the views of the harbor are great. It's hard to beat the value of this hotel relative to those in Bar Harbor. Also, the adjacent restaurant serves great breakfast.
